Default cats vs test pipes

ok tax seasons almost over and ill be free to do some mods to my car (accountant). Im definitely puttin on new exhaust (looks like nismo), and while im there i figured id go with high flow cats or test pipes with resonators. My question is this.....the high flows and the test pipes with res seem to be similar in price......does one greatly out perform the other? Also will i have the stink problem if i go with test pipes? Thirdly......hows the sound of the nismo with test or cats.......is it gonna be alot louder than regular nismo?

thanks guys

I am running the Helix Test Pipes,($199 from GruppeS), The only smell I have is a rich smell at idle. I also have the NISMO exhaust and yes it is much louder with Test Pipes. I am attaching a link that is in the forums so you can hear it.

test pipes will give you a little more power then high flow cats (don't know how much because it depends on the cats)
RT Cats were tested (by Cheston i think) to have a 90% flow rate compared to test pipes...
I don't know how the Kinetix and Crawford compare, maybe someone else knows...

i just noticed you wrote test pipes w/ resonators... i dunno how much power they make, i dunno how much power the resonators cut (if any)...

well from what i heard the resonators cut out the fart can noise......and they seem to cost as much as the hiflow cats, so I figure ill go that way if the extra power is there. I just dont want to get something so loud i cant live with it.
