That's your car with only the exhaust and test pipes or does it include everything in your sig?

First video the race is shortened due to oncoming car, the second video you can see the TA fall in behind at the end

Great run!!! How much HP and TQ does one of those LT1's put out? I did notice he had you on the first half of the race then you caught up and passed him by a car length? Have you dynoed your car yet, if so what numbers are you putting out?

V6 > V8

That particular TA was running CAI and some sort of aftermarket exhaust and supposingly a chip, he claimed to be putting out around 350 hp at the crank but has never done a dyno before so who knows.
My Z was dynoed back in January on a Dyno jet and it was around 30 degrees out, we got 268 rwhp and 252 rwt, the best pull was in 4th gear which in the video you will see that I did not pull the TA untill I barked 4th, he had me by a half a car link through 2nd gear and then through 3rd and 4th I was starting to catch and then leave him.

Not to be nitpicky but a 2001 TA has a LS1 in it not a LT1

Not if it has been converted.....But as I said, this is what the kid is saying, I could care less either way, the results would have been the same, Z in front.

No offense man but why would anyone with a 01 TA swap out their LS1 for a LT1 when the LT1 engine is inferior? And also the results would not be the same if you barely edged out a LT1 TA then a LS1 TA would kill you.

If you are talking a "stock" LT1 TA the last year was 1997 and they run low 14's stock. They had 285 bhp or if it was a WS6 up to 305 bhp.

BUT

If you are talking about a "stock" 2001 TA with the engine it came with the LS1 they run low to mid 13's or even better with a good driver. They had 320 heavily underrated bhp or if it was a WS6 325 heavily underrated bhp.

I have raced a LS1 Trans Am and it destroyed me like I was nothing, the results between a LT1 TA & a LS1 TA would not be the same.

No offense taken, all I know is the kid called me out and got what he asked for, I could care less whether it was a LS1, LT1 454 big block, what difference does it make. Listen to the guys talking in the 1st video at the beginning, obviously they new the kid and one of them clearly says LT1. I don't think I will be looking the kid up to ask him what he is running, I don't make a practice of street racing I went out that night with a local racing club to watch an Evo run an STI and a Z06 run a highly modified WS6 TA with a 200 shot of nitrous, just minding my business when the kid called me out. I am 39 years old and have no reason to fabricate a race story, just posting the sound clip of exhaust, my car is what it is and clearly puts out 268 rwhp and probably does not weigh as much as the TA Tank that I ran, so maybe that is why I was SO LUCKY as you are leading to. Change out the driver and I am sure it will have the same results. As far as you getting destroyed by a TA I can see by your signature that you are stock so you should have gotten destroyed, if you look closely and read the previous replies you can see that I am far from stock so NO I will not get destroyed by a TA.

My experiance with the LT1..

With my Z (only a pop charger) I ran an LT1 both from a stop and from a roll. In both cases I came out almost a full car length ahead. His nose was at about the rear, of my rear tire. It was a stock, manual LT1 ( I know the guy )

One experiance with the almightly LS1 (Z28). I was next to one at a stop light and as it turned green he took off semi hard, soooo, I followed. To my amazement I was catching up to him, slowly, but surely.. ( I could hear that is was an Auto ) Had to shut down before I could pass.

Sooo is it the same with the Camaros as with the vettes? The autos have crapier gearing then the MN6's?

Well even then I'd expect him to kick the sh*t out of me..

( Yes he was going all out, he even said so when he was done swerving all over the place and I got next to him at the next light )

Just a couple of GM fans that got confused on what website they were on. Glad that you also had the pleasure of kicking the cr*p out of the almighty LT1 and LS1.

The TA I ran also pulled me through 2nd gear but when I went to 3rd I was pretty much side by side, when you hear me bark 4th it was all over, you can see my Brake lights come on at the end of the 1/4 and the you will see the TA's brake lights come on not longer after and then fall in behind me. This thread was really not meant to beat up on the GM cars but to give everyone an idea of what the exhaust note sounds like.

I said I was surprised, I said I fully expect to get killed by an LS1.

But like it or not, believe it or not, I was catching up to this LS1 Auto Z28. I had three witnesses ( GF in the car, two friends in a car behind us ) and everything. Weather you, or others believe it, I could care less..

I would NEVER expect to beat an LS1 in my Z without some power mods ( quite a few of them ) but I was catching up to this one.

Hard to tell about a stock Z, mine is far from stock so I could not answer that reply honestly.

But I am kinda confused, is that the LT1 in the video or and LS1??

A 2001 is the LS1 and no on in their right mind would ever drop an LT1 in there in place of the LS1.

If you do not know, and you can not tell in the videos, were the headlights kind of indented into the dosy, with no plastic or glass convering, or DID it have the plastic covering over the lights?
