Here is a pic I took at ATCO, the one thing that I don't like is that I wouldn't be able to mount my engine cover over it. That is one if the main things I am looking for in an aftermarket plenum. Well that and also to keep my strut brace.

It does look good but, if the #'s aren't good then it really doesn't matter.

I definitely like the look of it, but the strut tower brace issue with many of the aftermarket plenums is a bummer. I definitely want a strut tower brace of some sort. Does anyone know if SSR plans to make a brace designed around their plenum much like Crawford did with their plenum? (Or heck, maybe Crawford's brace would fit... I'll have to examine some pics of them and see how it looks.)

Oh, and I don't give a rat's behind about the engine cover.

Hmmmmm... still no dyno numbers? Seems a bit sketchy to me. And their site says they are $995!! What happened to $695-$795?

So let's review...

The Plenum is $995 (already WAY more than the others), plus you can't use a Strut Bar or engine cover?

I admit it looks cool (a bit like a coffin as stated earlier), but until there are some numbers produced, it will be a hard sell IMHO.

So still no answer on the engine cover and strut bar fitting. We are all making assumptions but no one knows for sure???

SSR, can you give us some answers on just this info for now, screw the dyno for the minute. Come back to that later. I know the engine covers and strut bar are important to many peeps including myself.

I may be going to SSR to get this product tested out on my car. Expect dyno sheets in a few weeks from now for NA gains. Also from what I understand this is a full intake manifold, not just a plenum. Also has anyone confirmed the strut brace won't fit? SSR told me the engine cover would have to go, but they said they did not know if the strut brace would fit or not. Oh well.

Well, just by looking at the pictures it seems like both the engine cover and the strut bar will have to go. You could probably get away with using the Crawford bar though.

cut the sides of your engine cover.. get some jb weld and stick it on top of the manifold.. presto.. it fits

come on now.. you really want to cover it up??? if its for show.. u want to show it.. if its for performance... you dont care if its cover or not.. more less covered so you can check on it easier during stress... #'s is what counts! than you can decide if you want it for more top or bottom end and for either NA or Turbo or SC..

It will be a pig under 4K, the ECU will try to vary the cam timing but will just be all confused. I would expect the dyno and A/F to be very choppy. Above 4K you should see things smooth out and actually see 15-20 HP gains at redline, but HUGE torque loss down low. This is drapstrip manifold, a tunnelram. Not a streetable mod.

DANG!! What the heck is taking you so long to answer our questions SSR. Theres already 6 pages up on this thread, and you guys have only answered 1/4 of what we want to know, and you've answered once on each page, and it has to do with n/a and turbo application everytime. All we want to know is HP GAIN, a dyno, will the stock strut fit, etc. come one now, what the he** is going on.

I am REAL sure if they got good results they would have posted it a LONG TIME AGO. It's like how it was said above by karlhungus.

I don't think I'll be getting this unit installed on the Z. After thinking about it, the product looks too...out of place and nasty under the Z's hood. I value my strut bar over it. lol.

i dont think ssr even knows about this thread. i was supposed to do the testing for them, but they wanted like 1000 bucks up front...and if they cast it, they would refund me 400 bucks. thats still 600, so i denied it. i think testers should get more of a discount. someone else is testing it though...took awhile to find someone i believe...thats why theres the lag going on. should be an awesome product though. looks likes its here for trouble.
