Yeah, I heard Borla sound clips and wasnt that impressed, people were saying to try HKS and Magnaflow. What do you think?

Think you should've gotten a v8. Good luck getting it to sound like one.

the problem lies in the compression ratio. as long as the Z is 10.3:1 it wont sound like a v8 running 8.5:1

with that said, I dont think borla is gonna do it. need something really wide open. it was ALMOST there with no exhaust at all. the more restriction the exhaust has the smoother I find the tone to be, and thus, the less throughty; IMO.

Yeah I realize this, do you recommend any exhausts?

You might want to try some custom work at your local muffler shop with a flowmaster or magna flow. So far there isn't(that I know of)any exhuast systems out there that have the throatiness you are looking for. Good luck.

I picked up a copy of Options (or maybe it was Options 2) in Japan and the guy at Top Secret that built that orange Z that everyone's seen wrecked is now trying to put together a Z or Skyline (G35C) with the VK45 in it. The problem is that he can't find any donor VK45s in Japan because they don't have all the Infiniti line that we do over there. The VK is in the Cima, but that's a $70,000 car (our Infiniti M45 I think), and he can't find any wrecked ones. Anyway, he's done the measurements and said the swap will work.

Of course, the VK swap would probably cost more than the AEBS sleeves and build + TT...
