Default Helix or Xerd test pipes?

I'm looking into test pipes and keeping my current stock exhaust. I need the following characteristics in the test pipes

-ease of installation
-no cutting (just bolt on)
-must be stainless steel

WIth that said, which is the better test pipe. Which makes more power and is easier to install?
thanks

ps: links to purchase would be greatly appreciated

Also, the test pipes I want must NOT throw any Service Engine Soon codes.
Thanks

they are the same thing both long pieces of stainless that bolt up to your header. if you throw a code its all luck, not the fault of the manufacturer. gains will be the same, only thing thats different will be the piping size

what about LSDunique? I heard they were the best? Also, is it possible the Z needs backpressure thus lose hp????

also, what is the talk about resonators. Do the test pipes come with them etc? If so, does leaving them on inhibit gains

lsdunique talks up his product so we think his is the best, basically all they are is a piece of stainless steel so there is not a whole lot of room for quality build. i can gaurantee you that the test pipes will gain you hp so dont worry about backpressure if you dont understand what it is. a resonator acts like a muffler, it is a larger piece in the pipe which quiets the noise, if you like loud and raspy dont get a resonator.

thanks powertrip. But what Im confused about is this. Do the test pipes come with resonators as an option? Or is it a whole different entity? Are you referring to the stock resonator. Will resonators cause less hp? What do you recommend? I'd rather run resonators (dont like the raspiness) but if it hurts hp i dont want to.

Thanks man

it shouldnt affect the hp gains at all, certain brands have a resonator option, lsdunique does. i would recommend you decide what size exhaust piping your going to get and match a same size test pipe with it so that the flow will be equal. if you plan on doing long tube headers dont do them

I ordered the Helix test pipes from Evasive Motorsports on EBay ($159 + 24 shipping) and they should be coming in on Monday - I am also sticking to the stock exhaust (for now)... I think I'm going to like them because I like loud exhausts... the resonators, in my book, are not worth it because all they are doing is costing you more money to lose a little sound and a few HP... Test pipes are going to be one of the best "bang for your buck" mods you can do as long as you can live with the sound change...

So are their different size test pipes? Or all one size? I plan to stick with stock exhaust forever. But am looking into getting Helix Test pipes.
Thanks again guys

i think helix is 2.5 inch piping, which is more than enough if you are sticking with N/A

The Helix test pipes are 2.25". The Xerd's are the only one's I've ever found that are 2.5". Labree might offer test pipes, if they do then they are more then likely 2.5" as well.
