Test pipe/warranty?

They are not legal anywhere, you just will probably get caught if you have emmissions tests. The cats are federally mandated and cannot be removed unless they are damaged, but the assumption is that they are replaced with other cats, so test pipes are not legal for road use.

For those people who have installed test pipes, do you still take ur Z to the dealership for oil changes? Is there any real advantage to getting high flow cats over test pipes other than them being legal for street use? I have Helix pipes on the mind because they are the cheapest i have seen on the net. Any comments on that choice would be appreciated. Thanks again.

I went with the Kinetix test pipes with resonators to keep the raspiness down, you might want to consider that, I have heard cars with just pipes and the sound was just too raspy for my taste.
I haven't gone to the dealer since I put them on, but have changed the oil myself it is pretty easy to do on the 350Z, the filter is very acesible form underneath.
