Default Helix STest Pipes

I got my Helix SS Test Pipes installed today. The guy that installed them said that the fitment was perfect. There is definitely raspiness with these on now, but I can deal with it for the added power. Each TP is about 10 lbs lighter than the OEM Cats.

There seems to be a good increase. I am going to an AutoX this weekend and I will be able to tell for sure then. The new sound is almost annoying though. Kinda reminds me of a civic. Ill live though.

REally... does it totally overshadow the stock exhaust sound?

I do not have any way to record a sound clip that I am aware of. If I think of a way to record one, I will post it.

hehe i agree with you zach. the helix tp add good power but the sound is very annoying. At first I thought something was vibrating against the crossmember but that doesn't seem to be it. however combined with the greddy evoII exhaust i'm pretty amazed at the difference in acceleration. Also I have a question, when you're gunning it, then let off, do you get a weird type of sound that sounds like fuel moving coming from directly underneath you?

back to the issue of the raspy sound, any way to get rid of it? I really should have waited to put these on cuz now I can't really tell what my greddy exhaust sounds like with these freakin test pipes.

How does your exhaust sound with the pipes and Greddy exhaust? I am contemplating a new exhaust, but I dont want to spend a grand for a system and installation. PLus I have heard its too expensive for the little gains that are seen. I guess its whatever makes the person happy!!

How do the test pipes sound with a stock exhaust and what kind of gains are expected?

As far as sound goes, I think the test pipes make my car sound like a civic. I think that Helix claims that these test pipes make gains of about 5-8 hp, but I could be wrong.
