Bad experience with INJEN!!!
OK here goes...
I volunteered to do a test fitting for INJEN back in December for the new straight tip exhaust, so they gave me a CAI for my time. They called me again for more test fittings, so I asked if I could get the new exhaust for a good price. They told me $250 (their cost). I was like 'WOW Thanks." My car got in an accident and something under the car was disaligned, so they couldn't put the prototype exhaust on for me. They told me to come back whenever I get my car fixed and they'll put it on, no problem. When I finally get my car out of the shop, I call them and they say 'Oh, the exhaust is not done yet. I'll look to see if we have another prototype for you." I waited and waited and never got a call back.
About a month ago, I call Ron @ INJEN and leave him a few messages asking about the exhaust and still no callbacks. I got to talk to him today and he told me he could NOT give me an exhaust because they were out of stock and in a month there will be more. I was like "I understand" being that everyone was waiting for months. Then I asked "Is the $250 price you told me still good?" and he says "No I can't do that, I can do $450 though. We aren't making any money on the $450." I was thinking back to what he said back in December about $250 is their cost to make an exhaust. I didn't really want to argue over $200. So he said call him back in a month, and we'll see. If they sell out again, what happens to my exhaust? I don't think I'm gonna get one until the demand goes down. BTW, it's not so much about the raised cost, it's about going back on his word.
It sucks how when they asked me to come for test fittings, its one day notice and I am still more than willing to be there, but when I ask for my 'reward', I'm put on the back burner.
Hopefully, one day I will get one.
Ok I'm done thanks for listening.
Please don't flame me, I'm just sharing my experience.

That sucks dude, I feel for you. That just shows you can't take anybody's word when it comes to business. Always put it in writing to protect yourself. Good luck next time. I'm sure you'll find a better deal somewhere.
Thanks Rie & Z8M. Yeah, I should've got it in writing. What was more shocking was that I didn't expect that from INJEN at all. I thought they would at least remember me and take the time to at least save 1 exhaust for me. Oh well, I know not to make that same mistake again.
Thanks again guys. You got a PM back Rie!

Here, i've got a story that about getting screwed on a business deal that will make you feel a lot better. this is what i'm going through right now:
I shoot in pistol competitions. a little over a year ago, i went through a gun dealer and ordered a full sized Wilson Tactical .45 ACP. I'd bought guns from this guy before, had done business with him for over a year to that point. other people i knew had bought high-end guns through him too. his rep was really good to that point.
So i go to order this pistol. now let me put this in perspective: Wilson Tactical's are some of the best firearms on the market, way above the quality of even most top-end companies like Kimber. My pistol was going to be built to custom specs, and i knew i'd have to wait a while (i'd seen people wait up to a year- Wilson was severely backlogged) to get my gun. the dealer i was going through said he'd get me the pistol for 10% above cost if i paid for it up front so he wouldn't have to front the money to Wilson (they expect payment in advance for something like this). The total amount came out to just over $2300.
Fast forward. a year goes by. i stay in touch with my dealer. he says the pistol's on the way. a few months later, his partner buys him out and takes control of the business. No one bothered to inform the customers of the reasons or details involved in this buyout. so i keep checking with the new managers. at first everything's fine. then the answers i get start getting vague. suddenly, a few weeks ago (just over a year later), the dealer has NO DOCUMENTATION WHATSOEVER ON MY PISTOL (don't worry, I DO. getting to that part).
then it all came out. the first manager built up his reputation, then started EMBEZZLING from the business. he apparently left several people with lots of money down on guns high and dry, then covered his tracks, sold out to his partner, and split. no one knows where he is. there's a warrant out for his arrest.
The new management runs and hides behind their lawyer. anyone ever heard the term "limited liability corporation"? well, i've heard it a lot recently, despite the fact that i've got plenty of paperwork proving that i gave this business - not Tyrone Russell, but the business he represented - $2300+. I hate to see them get screwed, i know this wasn't their fault. but i can guarantee that by the end of this, i'll have all my money back. anyway, that's been my headache lately. feel better?

wow so you're the second guy that got the test fitting on the straight exhaust. all I got was the CAI and he told me I can get their exhaust at their cost. bleh, the guy I dealt with was Louie.
Yeah, INJEN told me that the guy before me got in an accident before so they couldnt use him. Was that you? They first told me their cost was $250, but now $450. Did you get the new exhaust though?

This sux alindo. They should keep their word as you made sure you were available when they needed to test fit. Business tactics like this make all business person (to be pc) look bad. Hopefully you can still get the exhaust for $450. Lates bro.
limited liability means you cant sue the owners of the corporation. but it also means you can sue the corporation itself.
with proof the only way they get out of it is for the company to declare ch. 13.

the problem/advantage of limited liability corporations is this:
1. if you are the "employees/owners" of the corporation, if the corporation ever gets sued, then you cannot have your personal assets sued, only the corporation loses money in a lawsuit
2. if you are the purchaser of a product from the corporation, or if you are sueing the corporation, the only legal entity you can sue is the corporation and all of the corporation's assets. I bet these owners are smart and have moved all of the corporation's assets and money into dividends for their stock holders and into salaries. Chances are, their corporation will only have a cash flow of about... 200 bucks. Lets hope they werent smart and got rid of all their money. I really hope you get your money back.
