Default AEM cold air intake

I just bought a AEM intake. Can someone direct me on the install instructions. I don't have any.

Do you have to remove the bumper to install this?

no you do not have to remove bumper. But you do have to take some steps in removing some bolts and placing the bracket that came with the system. If I were you I would call them to send you the instructions. If you cant get your hands on it let me know. and I will send you these in the mail. Just give me your address. sorry I dont have a scanner so I cant email you them. Maybe someone here might have it on file. Once again PM me if you get no results.

thank you very much for the offer!! I found some install instuctions already. But I have a question. When I first hit the throttle, there is a small whistle sound. Kind of a sucking maybe.
Is that normal?

I'm thinking of getting AEM CAI as well for the sound... I loved it on my previous car.

I was thinking about the JWT, bought I got the AEM at a really cheap price and I really didn't like the look of the JWT.

I wouldn't worry about the AEM sucking up water, because it's inside of the wheel well, unless you go in like a 12" puddle, which is very rare. I think I would see a flood outside and be able to avoid such a thing.

The Injen is a different story, because it sits right behind the bumper's grill.

Agreed. I had the AEM on mine originally. Took it off because the filter is too close to the ground and was afraid of sucking in water. We flood easily around here. Also the JWT is 1/2 the price and has proven better gains, and get a better sound out of it.

where do you find a JWT, I found on JEG'S the AEM for $229. What does the JWT cost? How much performance should be realistic to expect by adding Cold Air Induction?

You should be about to find the JWT for about $125 and the AEM for $229 is not bad. The best I seen the AEM is for like $219, but I don't remember where. I got my used off of ebay.

I think the JWT puts out like 2 more HP, maybe less.

www.performancenissanparts.com sells the JWT for $120.

I'm looking into intake systems as well and getting a little confused.

Are you all saying that a JWT popcharger at $120 will give better hp gain than a $200+ CAI system (like Injen, AEM or Nismo). And some of you say the JWT sounds better, even.

Then, why are so many people paying $100 or more for these CAI systems. And, it seems the JWT is much easier to install. What gives????

Actually when you put it together, the JWT is a rip off, all you get is an air filter and heat sheild for 125. The AEM and Injen come with 2 pipes, Sillicon hoses and a filter. The reason the jwt got more HP is because it's a ram air system. JWT did the dyno with a Stillen type front bumper.

I won't want this system in the rain. But if you have a stock bumper it will be ok. Altough it will not make the same power.

I would agree on this one, the AEM is not all that. I only put it on because I got it cheap. I wouldn't pay 215 for an AEM, but an Injen would be worth it.
