Question Test pipe question

I'm thinking about getting some test pipes for my Z. I like the sound of the stock exhaust but would like it to be a bit louder and if I get a couple hp that wouldn't be bad either.

My question is, since the 350Z has O2 sensors upstream and downstream of the catalytics will this effect the computer popping up a code or even effecting the driveability of the car?

Also if anyone has some sound files with the test pipes installed please post it. Thanks for your help!

Peter

no codes will pop up, the test pipes come with a place to put the sensors. also you will get some performance out of it but not its full potential untill you do the complete exhaust. also it wiil get louder. hope this helps i have the test pipes and also the borla TD.

I have the Helix test pipes and no CEL. The sound is definitely louder with the test pipes. If you can stand the sound, go for the mod.

I have the Kinetix testpipes with resonators and GReddy EVO 2 exhaust. No raspiness whatsover. In fact the whole set-up is almost as quiet as stock while being more agressive sounding at full throttle.

Isn't that because you have a TT? I heard the Evo 2 on a blue Z here on the forum and it's pretty loud. I want to get a set of EVO for my G and I'm searching for more info. So, on your car is just a little bit louder than stock.

kinetix is floating around this forum somewhere, I beleive he's a vendor. track him down and send a PM.

Im not sure if they have a website... if they do, they keep it very well hidden. or Im looking in all the wrong places.
