Popcharger got quiet
I installed my JWT popcharger about 1000 miles ago and its been sounding great until recently.
During acceleration, even low rpm I had the hissing sound. I went for a ride last week and it took alot of pedal to get the sound. Like I said during low rpm I had the sound now its gone. Its still there at mid to higher rpm though.
I checked for anything clogging the filter and there was nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?

it's common with all of the cai. the most plausible thing i've heard is that the sound is the increased air flow passing over the throttle body as it opens at certain angles. others have said that its the fuel pump or the maf sensor, but i'm not all together sure whats causing the hissing sound. at first i thought it was the air passing over the lip of the cone filter in the airbox, but even with an open topped filter the sound is still their.

oh, yea my bad i didn't think anyone would want that sound to begin with. it sounds like one of those cheap *** exhaust add-ons that makes your car sound like you have a bov. i hope that everyone can read this, you have to forgive me because i'm not quite literate and am borderline retarded.

it's just more air rushing in...that's the whistle.
i'm not sure why it would go away....maybe clean it and re-oil it???

I would second the adaptation remark. Even though you only drive it once a week, you said yourself you have 1K miles on it.
I have about 1k miles on mine, and the only sound i can really hear anymore is (what i think) the throttle plate whistling.
If you want her to whistle you have to touch her right.
I can usually get a nice scream with 1/4 to 1/3 throttle at about 3900 rpms.

I'm starting to wonder if the outside air temp has something to do with it?????
