Default Kinetix v4 plenum

well, i went to the source about kinetix's v4. this is the email i got back:

"We are hoping to not only iron out the kinks, but smash them into little pieces!!! yes we have had problems with the plenum which has been very frustrating.
We made several large changes to the design and have tooled new molds. Changes include an integrated center support which is molded in with the plastic, not a seperate piece which bolts on. We also no longer drill holes through the top of the plenum to bolt the center supports which causes an easy stress target. We also switched materials, about 40% stronger."

Sounds fairly convincing to me. I'm pretty hopeful about this one. i'm gonna order mine next week, but i imagine i'll have to wait in line behind all the group buy guys. as soon as you guys get these and start putting them on, i'd appreciate feedback.

So with all these new reinforcements, wouldn't the volume of the interior be decreased thus reducing the amount of power gained.

Also, doesn't the reinforcements obstruct airflow?

Just curious

i noticed that the difference between the v2 and v3 was that the v2 had a large reinforced area at the front support, but the v3 had reinforcements at both supports that were equal in volume to the size of the one reinforced area on the v2.

looks like mine may have cracked! piece of ****! im sorry but this is the 3rd one to crack, this time they need to send a replacement before i sent this cracked garbage back, i am getting tired of install - reinstall - install - reinstall - install - reinstall - install - reinstall. i think it may be time to go with a crawford.and flame me all you want but i don't need to spend my hard earned money on garbage, and three cracked plenums? that is garbage. they should have guinea pigged them selves with these plenums before they made it public. so as i said flame me if you want but it is my money and i will complain if i choose to. and you may say," well they offer a lifetime warranty" well guess what, nissan is offering a allignment extension and refund for feathered ties but i still hear you all complain about it. my opinion..........well i better not say what i think.

Any claim Kinetix Racing made with their V1 plenum (w/ no reinforcements, no obstructions) needs to be retested on the new versions with the reinforcements especially since the inside chamber is affected.

Just giving some ideas, to plenum owners.

I feel your frustration... I tried V1, V2, but after V2 cracked again, I felt that the center portion of the plenum will get flex, no matter what... and after a while, it may just be weaken.. so I switched to Crawford.. it's more money (since you have to send in core, and lose stock stb), but the power gain is just too good to be miss (any plenum).

Good luck.. hope V4 will solve the current problem(s).

wait ..so the crawford and the Kinetix plenum have the same power gains.............NO...really.....i though there recently was a big cat fight about crawford's not being as good as it was supposed to e and that the car had ECU tweaks and thats how it was getting 40 extra lb/ft at the redline.

Nope, plenum gains are the same. There is theory that the Kinetix should be better because of the plastic and less heat soak. Whether this is a reality or not is not known.

Crawford has been working with Technosquare for months now hammering out a good ECU flash for their performance parts. To my knowledge the performance parts used on this test car are JWT popcharger, Crawford Plenum, Crawford Headers, Crawford Cats and the Fujitsubo Titanium exhaust. They have not posted Dyno charts for this final ECU flash yet. They did post some very early Dyno charts with an ECU flash, but that flash had problems and provided gains in one area of the curve and a loss in other areas. The Crawford package is as advertised without any tuning.
