you definitely have an opinion and can let everyone know.

on the flip side, I am STILL running on the version 1 plenum I got way back in the beginning. No cracks, no leaks, and it is working just perfectly.

Hopefully version 4 will fix the issues and not take ANYTHING away from the original form and result. They did state that the new material is 40% stronger and the holes on the top (that were stress points) have been eliminated.

I have no plans on removing my plenum until it either starts cracking or leaking. At that time I will take them up on their fantastic customer service/warranty and switch up to the new one.

I too, am interested in hearing about Version 4.

I wonder how the flexing will be, with the added 40% material. The posts are also has been removed on V4, so it's basically a hollow space... Guess we'll find out when V4 is out..

I am not certain the removed the center supports. they may have just molded them into the plenum so there is not a reason to put bolts in it anymore.

For some reason, this reply sounds amusing.

Mine cracked, and I am waiting for a V4 plenum. IN the mean time, I have filled the crack and the area above it with a silicone sealant and it works like a charm.

Default V2

I'm still going strong with my V2 KINETIX plenum. No signs of cracking or leaks so far!

Well I guess I just learned not to open my big mouth....

While under the hood today after work adding a little braided hose, I gave my plenum a once over and I'll be damned... the front mount point on the top has not one, but 4 hairline cracks coming from it!
They are almost invisible and the only way that I really noticed them was because of the shiny residue around the cracks and pooling up under my strut bar. I thought that my idle had been a little rough recently, but didn't think much of it. Now I know why.

Looks like I'll be contacting KINETIX ASAP.

I'd like to see what percentage of plenums have cracked of each version. Everyone talks about how great Kinetix customer service is, but if what they are selling is failing......Does great customer service really matter???

NOT IN MY BOOK!

I'd rather buy from a jackass whose products actually work. Just my opinion, though.

We all like products that work, but nobody actually likes buying from a jackass! Hopefully, with the v4 we can have a good product from good people. Also, the v3 was a considerable improvement over the v2. (v1 cracked around the screws and in the center, v2 fixed the screws but cracked in the center, v3 has much improved resistance to cracking, but a few have still had some problems)

I think the percentage of v3's that have cracked is fairly low. (obviously my opinion is not scientific data) I do know that kinetix, as referenced by everyone on this board (even those who got refunds), has dealt fairly with their customers. When your developing new products, while it's not a substitute for functionality, customer service goes along way.

Id say thats correct, but dont forget all data so far is very short term. there is still zippo long term data on how these will hold up on the long haul. the question is are the V3s just lasting longer, or forever. I dont see why anyone would leave well enough alone. at this point I think its fair to say V1 and V2 were flawed, 100%, its way way beyond user error or chance. using one is just a ticking bomb; I wouldnt bother tempting fate or bragging that your V1 or V2 is still doing good. I dont see the point in that.

my firestone tires on my explorer havent exploded yet! would you really keep riding them like your somehow beating the system?

ITs true, it really works well. Quite honestly it may be the perfect fix for some of these issues.

With all these returned V1/2/3 Kinetix Plenums, does Kinetix even make money on them? Can they recycle the material and use it for new plenum? Just wondering....

Yeah. As much as I stand behind KINETIX, I have to wonder how their business is doing with all the cracked plenums. They are replacing the plenums with no problem, but that can't be good for thier profits. I mean the only way that they could still be ok is if the price to make the plenums is REALLY cheap. If, for example each plenum costs them $50.00 to make (doubtful), then they could replace it 3 or 4 times and still turn a profit on it. I seriously doubt that they are that cheap for them to make though.

Is there an e-mail address for them, other than just sending lsdunique a PM?

Oh, I think it is very cheap to make each plenum, the problem they are facing is with R&D costs and trial-and-error (ie cracked plenums) - I just plan on running the V4 until I go F/I and then hopefully their new aluminum plenum (you know, the bad-*** looking one) will be out by then, and at that time I can either trade-up to that model or just buy the new one and sell the old one... but I have faith in Kinetix as a company and I will support anyone who is pushing the performance envelop for our vehicles (Crawford included)
