Why did you quit ? How far did you get ? The installation is very easy. If you can describe exactly what you've done so far, somebody here can walk you thought this.
No I wouldn't drive the car without the filter and the MAF in place. That is just asking for trouble.

i got the oem filter (the whole plastic part thing) off....drilled the two holes.....and was in the process of putting in the heat shield....but i'm having problem screwing that same two screws into it....it's so small in there.....i dunno...just having trouble with it....

also im just concern about how the heck am i going to tighten that last bolt....the one in the bottom....i already had a hard time taken it off...so how can i tighten it to make sure it's secure

Try lining up the heatshield and use some sort of silver marker/paint to mark on the black airflow piece. Use an icepick or something similar and poke holes through it. Then just use a screwdriver to get the screws in there.

Are you talking about the two screws in line with each other where the heat shield attaches to the body?

Just try a little harder. At least bolt on the upper screw. If you quit installing the bolts you can slide the shield (the part with the holes) inside the plastic air opening without using the screws then secure the lower part to the body. The heat shield will hold in place. Install the filter then decide if you would go to a shop or simply leave it that way.

Yes, that's what I mean. Just fit the part with the two holes inside the air vent instead of the outside. The shield would be secure. Try it. It would take you one minute and you will have the feeling.

Anyone try using Heavy Duty double side tape instead of the 2 screws? Faster and easier.

What I did was this, I screwed those two bolts that connect heat shield to the car which is at the bottom of the heat shield. At first, I couldnt install those screws on the intake snorkel so I juss did the bottom bolts and it was already tight enough so I left it alone. So far everythings great. After the heat shield, theres nothin really tricky about installing this.

you do not need to install those 2 little screws.... 90% of self installed pop chargers do not put those thingies on... atleast of the DIYers that drive into our shop.. hehe
