Default Resonated Test Pipes, couple ???'s

I have spent too much money on my exhaust to still have the raspiness I'm getting (even though it is muffled somewhat it's still annoying as he11) - I'm looking at resonated test pipes, but don't know which ones to go with...

Stillen - are they really resonated? kinda just looks like a larger tubing, but their website says its an "expansion chamber" - is there rasp present with these?

Kinetix/LaBree - both "true" resonated pipes, but pricey... waiting for price on Kinetix GB before deciding (hopefully it would go smoother than the last GB on the plenum) - these would definitely cure the rasp...

Please advise... any comments/advice/testimonials greatly appreciated!

The Kinetix are great, I have the straight pipes and comapring to mine, they are much better, just a little raspiness as you pass 4K rpm but that is it otherwise it kept the original sound just deeper and louder. After hearing non resonated pipes I would never get them.

Well, I called Stillen and Adam told me that their race pipes are not "resonated" they are just a "stepped" design - to promote better exhaust scavenging and created more power - well, I got to the point where power really doesn't matter, I just want my car to sound better!

I think I've decided to just wait for the GB on the Kinetix resonated test pipes and fork over the $300 or so they're going to be...

BTW - my Helx test pipes will be for sale as soon as I receive the new ones... only 800 mi - $125 OBO... reserve them now...

I have the kinetix resonated ones, it's worth the $400, no rasp whatsoever.

Why don't you just go to a muffler shop and have some resonators welded in. It'll be less than $100 and your rasp will be gone

I have been to every shop around here and no one has resonators that are smaller than 12" - there is no way in hell I'm letting anyone cut on my GReddy exhaust to put a resonator in there - If I can sell my test pipes for $125 or so, it'll make spending the money for the resonated ones that much easier...

I understand where you are coming from. And yes, resonators come no smaller than 12 inches. For me it wasn't a problem to let the an cut my stillen exhaust. It's metal and he has been making custom eshausts for a long time. i saw pictures of his work and trusted him. To me, trying to get someone to buy my test pipes and then having to order $400 resonated ones was too much of a hassle. It was a quick 1 hour fix for less than $100 and looks, sounds, and performs great.
