Default Added torque on cats installation....

Does anyone know about the average torque that has been added to the wheels when a pair of cats are installed? I know people always can FEEL the differences after the cats installation, is it because of the added power factor or actually the added torque factor that's giving people the strong acceleration feeling?

Also if anyone happens to know what is the added torque to the z after the cats are installed, please share with me? Am thinking about adding a pair of crawford cats on my car (as Mine's cats adds 30 N-m of torque with only 5HP gain)... and would like to know what's the torque figure like?!

Thanks a lot guys!

cheers,

richie

Go with Ultimate racing cats. In two or three weeks I will hit the dyno.

do you feel a lot of punch from 3K rpm onwards? really want to get the cats that offer the most TORQUE gain!!!

EDIT: What is the installation like on ultimate ones? do you notice the nismo exhaust (especially the Y pipe) has been pushed down a bit?

cheers,

richie

What makes these better than any other ones on the market?

Crawford's already have been shipping to Aussie customers with lots of success!

I made torque across a wide RPM range when I installed test pipes, but I lost 4 hp at the peak....

and, I made torque when I swapped the test pipes (too loud for me) with Random Tech cats, but those failed after only 600 miles...

now, I'm back to OEM cats...

The Ultimate are very good, and not necessarily any better or worse than others. The same goes for Kinetix, Ultimate, Crawford and possibly other brands. These cats should essentially all have the same longevity, fit and power gains.

Just don't go with Random Technology cats, they are known for very short life.

What he meant to say is the RT cats SUCK!

I have some new undisclosed pipes coming to replace mine after only 5k miles and I expect a big torque increase on my FI setup.

The RT's go phhhffftt when I accelerate. I will post my results next week!

I'm installing Kinetix High Flow Cats tomorrow. I can repost on Monday with any noticeable differences in driving. I'll most likely dyno next weekend or the weekend after.
