Default exhaust wrap?

Has anyone ever considered wrapping their exhaust from the cats back? I know a couple of friends with integras that are all about wrapping their exhaust and intake pipes.

You did a good jod man. Do you like it or notice anything? also i heard wraps on the exhaust can hold water and rust your pipes. IM sure its not true though being that it would get evaporated very quick. Oh yah also how many feet did you have to buy to do all that? sorry but one more ques. did you have to order it did you find it at a store.

Phatmitzu, did you wrap your headers at all? Can you comment on any observations? Like impressions of how hot it is under the hood or at the tailpipes?

Thanks. I wrapped the intake to keep the metal piping and air box from the extreme heat. Wrapping the exhaust is not mainly for the water, but to keep the exhaust air inside the piping in a higher temperature. Hotter the exhaust gas, the faster it flows.
I got them at summitracing.com. Search for thermotech(one word). Part Number THE-11001 for the exhaust, and THE-14002 for the intake. and you will need some clamp straps. THE-13001.

No I did not wrap the headers because they are still stock and I didnt bother remove them for wrappings. I will wrap my aftermarket headers after I get them. How hot is it?...I have no idea.

Thanks.

I just wrapped a set of headers for a Chevy truck and I was both wondering about the Z and wrapping other parts of the exhaust at the time.

It took about 40' of 2" to wrap a set of shorty V8 headers. I'd guess about the same for our V6's, but I'm not sure. I used that stuff you linked to as well. To wrap piping, you can make a guess with something like this I think. This is more for another pipe than the headers.

length needed for a straight piece of pipe =
length of pipe * (diameter of pipe * 3.14) / (width of wrap - 0.25")
