Default Injen Super SES or Borla TD

Ok guys I know this has been discussed millions of times, but I am very indecisive on these two exhaust systems. I am for sure that I am getting either of these two. Many of you guys got the Injen flared tips, that one is ugly. If I was to go with Injen, I would get the straight tips. So which one should I get guys? I am looking for performance and looks.

performance and looks.....well....if you want looks....i suppose the Injen since the Borla looks almost like stock.

for sound (which is the biggest factor for me) it depends on if you want a subtle sound ro some ricey sound.

my vote goes to Borla

I have the Borla and I am in love with it. Deep and throaty. I vote Borla.

The Injen has a much better build quality than the Borla. Nice factory welds, and no cheap slip-in pieces. This poll should be a no-brainer; the Injen should be compared to the Greddy, not the Borla....

My vote goes for the Injen. The Borla TD has I believe 17 pieces. this gives more room for exhaust leaks. Plus the Injen system just looks better IMO. There is a thread about the Injen system that shows pix of the system, one is of mine!! The Injen is very loud and deep. To me, it sounds like a V8(sorta). However, mine is a little ricey due to my test pipes, but not a lot.

Injen without a doubt. I have Xerd headers (no cats) with the Injen SES and the sound is AWESOME. Try Greg AT GSC Motorsports (one of the sponsors on this site). Got mine for 800.00 with free shipping and excellent service. No rice sound here more like V8 sound with my setup.

Tom, where did you get your Xerd headers and how much were they? Just curious.

Does the Injen exhaust sound ricey? I dont want ricey, I want deep. And is it true that the Borla has 17 pieces that you have to put together? And is it prone to leaks? I think both look nice IMO but the Injen does look different than stock. IMO I like how the stock exhaust looks like. I like that big canaster in the middle.

Yes, mine is just a little ricey because of my test pipes. Im not saying the Borla is prone to leaking cause I dont know. Im saying that there is more room for leaks.

these are really two COMPLETELY differnet exhausts. The injen is a little louder and sounds not-so-stock. The borla is a smaller differnece in sound and will not be as noticeable. On a VQ you arent going to get great gains with ANY exhaust because they just dont respond to bolt ons like say.... a supra tt would. The decision should really be based on sound and looks with performance as a secondary concern. I am personally getting injen after hearing raves over its quality and hearing sound clips (i have a g35coupe by the way... not a Z)

the injen is very deep especially with a nice set of headers.

i see coachk knows the sound mine makes well. its hard to explain but it definitely rumbles akin to a v8.

I just installed my Injen yesterday. It is really nice and there is no drone at normal rpm's. It has a really low nice sound until 2700rpm or so. After that it is not very noticable unless you are hard on the throttle. Also, when you let off the throttle or are keeping it really steady at any rpm you don't even know there is an aftermarket on there. Some may not like this, but I like the fact that it sounds bad *** when you really get on the gas but is pretty mellow the rest of the time. Not ricey at all.

HOw does the sound of the Injen compare to the Stillen. I just got the Stillen and i'm hoping it will have a deep throaty sound when i mash the gas. I've heard it's not as loud as the Injen but still has a good rumble.

From a sound standpoint, the Stillen is about the same or maybe even quieter than the Borla. I'm not sure on performance, but as was stated earlier, NO exhaust is going to give you huge gains and they are all pretty much the same.
