Just don't spray on too much oil or you will kill your air flow meter.

If you use K&N, your filter will turn red. If you want it to stay blue, buy the recharger kit from Performance Nissan,

Thanks for that ! Already have the blue oil , just wanted to know if it was plain water and any special procedure. Thanks again .

Originally was told it was higher miles before cleaning , now it appears to be sooner . At what interval are most people cleaning it ?It has been three - five months .

I just finished cleaning and recharging mine with the K&N supplies. The K&N equipment includes cleaning solution that you spray on before you clean it with water. You then leave it in the sun to dry. Tucson has a lot of sun. I have both the liquid and the spray solution. I dripped the liquid on the sides, and sprayed it on the top. I'm leaving it on my workbench overnight for it to dry. Yes, with the K&N stuff, now it's red.

With the instructions from Performance , it says 3 months or getting brown . Also , the cleaning process is different on the Blue oil spray can than it is from Performance's direction .The oil can says to use a mild detergent , then flush .Performance says just water . Hmmm !

clean it when it starts to get really dusty, basicly when you tap it and particals fall!

I havent had enough down time on my car to take off my intake filter, wash it / spry it / let it dry... so i just beat my filter against my shoe... DONT TRY THAT AT HOME!

but you can use any filter oil like the K&N or the JWT oil...

IMHO - I would recomend the K&N oil since it comes with the cleaning solution and then the oil spray...
