Crawford Plenum vs. Kinerix Plenum, who makes more power?
the designs are different...one clears the strut...one dosent...i believe they make equal power and have never seen any other post to refute that belief. whats the truth?
the extra volume...i understand, but does it really make a difference?....another way i thought about it is, what does it matter if there is "extra space" in crawfords design, a set amount of air can only enter the runners. the front 2 cyclinders are starved...so u can feed them (hp gain), but i dont think its possible to overfeed them with air due to the runner size
Im not a physics whiz, but from what I understand more volume is good for N/A cars. I dont know why exactly. I guess less turbulence. its a limited amount of space in the intake tube, but restriction is cumulative, so the more volume the air can flow through in the manifold the less restriction you have there. which means it can pull more air.
the newest versions should make the same as the earlier versions. not much has changed to the design.
from what i have observed on dynoes. the kinetix had a nice 5-8whp gain everywhere on the rpm range. the crawford really starts to make power above 4500rpms. from like 5500 up it is 10-15whp with a peak of around 20 at redline with similar gains to the kinetix before 4500.

I remember reading a post on the first Kenetix Plenum issued. Someone installed and Dynoed both the Crawford and the Kenetix Plenums on the same car (the same day). I thought the Kenetix had a slight edge, plus it has less heat soak. The graphs were on the post. A search is in order. I thought it was the guy who was always boasting about having Kenetix V1 with no problems.
I recently dyno'd the Crawford v1 (older one) vs. the Kinetix v4. Both made significant gains for me with the Kinetix on the average a few hp higher across the board than the old Crawford. It'll be interesting to know of there are any power gains going from Crawford v1 to v5 ... probably not.
