for there to be a problem, you'll have to submerge the filter in water... rain won't hurt it.

you'll be fine if it rains, but dont ever submerge it. I will never put another cai on my car because of the big puddles that collect around here when it rains. With my last car i managed to submerge my cai twice, somehow i got lucky and the water never made it past the intake manifold.

You could modifier it to be a shorty. You suck in a little more hot air than where it should be placed, BUT the odds of you hydro locking your engine drop greatly.

Yeah, rain won't hurt. I drove from Cleveland to NY in a down pour the entire trip & I did not have any issues.

If you're really concerned, AEM makes a bypass valve, but you lose alot of the small amount of power-gain...

I had a CAI that on my vw gti 1.8t and i hit a 1ft deep puddle 2 mins away from my house. I blew my engine.

I've driven with a cai on my civic for 2 years before i had the gti, so I wasn't being stupid and trying to drive through it, the problem was I couldn't see that the water was 1ft deep.

Ever since I won't touch the intake on the car, its the only cheap bolt on mod that could cause your engine to blow.

Stock intakes rule! On my gti it had a built in flap that opened up if the bottom was filled with water.

I'll just save my money for a turbo kit.
