Nismo Cat Back & Cold Air Intake

I did the NISMO intake along with the exhaust and headers. I had the dealer install it because it looked like a painful install, and I am not mechanically inclined. The NISCO CAI puts the air filter really low inside the bumper, and the sound is awesome. I am thinking of doing a Kinetix plenum, which looks like an easy install that even I can do and add a few more ponies and sound.
Most people say the CAI install is easy, and if you are mechanically inclined it may be. The position of the filter is a bit awkward because it is so low, and removing the bumper may make it easier.

Resucitating an old thread. Are you in SoFla and if so, which dealer installed the Nismo CAI for you? I've called a few of them and also they sell the Nismo line, they don't install their CAI's.

The NISMO Cold Air Intake includes the Water Diverter which is a must in rainy envrionments...
Ive had the INJEN, NISMO, K&N Typhoon and JWT Pop charger on my car...
By far my favorite is the JWT Pop Charger for price, performance and sound.
Next would be the K&N because it still shares the short ram design but the intake filter diameter is pretty small next to the JWT...
NISMO and INJEN would be next in my book... But would take the NISMO over the INJEN simply because of the water diverter and filter placement...

A tranny swap? Hehe, that's *way* more difficult than this intake install. The only bummer about the Nismo intake is that you have to take off the front left wheel and fender liner. Other than that, it's cake.

Does it void the warranty if you install the Nismo CAI as opposed to having the Nissan dealer do it?

Making Nismo parts available to the U.S. market, and ensuring that they are super high quality products is one of the sharpest business moves I have seen from an automaker in some time.

Warranty on what are you referring to? The Nismo intake is an R-tune part. It has no warranty itself. If you have some other kind of engine problem, and that problem is linked to the intake, you will have to pay for it. If it is not linked to the intake, no problem. Now....I haven't heard of a single Nissan dealer giving anyone a hassle over Nismo parts. In my opinion, Nismo parts are the safest way to go, and, per chance, they are also some of the highest quality aftermarket parts available for the Z.
