Need a quick response on header purchase
I'm looking at buying some borla headers off ebay. The seller is parting out so I think I'll get a pretty good deal. However, he doesnt have the instructions and he says I can use the stock hardware. Does anybody think that will be a problem? Also will I need any other parts to install the borlas with my stock exhaust system? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I've just purchased Crawford Z headers and looking at the install proceedures this is a major undertaking. Take the time to search for install instructions and form your own opinion. What may seem to be a good deal may cost more to install esp. if they have been used.
The Borla installation should be the same as the NISMO Headers installation. There is a great installation guide for the NISMO one that you can use. I forgot the website, but you can contact Micheal-Dallas for it, as he was the one that wrote it up.
You can also use the Crawford's Installation guide from their website as well, but can forego the removal of the engine mount section.

You can call Borla and they will email the instruction to you as a PDF file. Also, IIRC one of the header collector bolts is a stud which you won't be able to reuse. I would definitely get a new set of header gaskets only as insurance against a leak. The Borla headers are not worth the hassle of the installation IMO.
