When we were installing and since you're going from a Y pipe to an H pipe one side tends to get a little close (and pardon my lack of terminology) but it's kind of a heat sheild or something... but just as I stated earlier...it doesn't rub... I get no rattles.

Mine sounds similiar to Benj and I have borla headers.

Thanks Mrbader! I was shying a way from Borla because of what I was hearing and leaning toward Nismo. But for the $$$ Borla is what I'm looking for. I'm also looking into getting Borla headers with high flow cats. Can't wait till I get my tax return.

The Nismo is so over priced I think. I'm plenty happy with my Borla. I also did the JWT Pop Charger at the same time. When hammering the pedal you can hear the breathing in and exhaling out the back. Quite impressive. Cool for me since this is the 1st car I ever do anything to.

I own a MotorSport shop... if you need mods let me know... I can drop ship.

Default Get the Borla with the Headers

I just had my Borla TD exhaust installed, but I decided to spend the extra money and get the headers as well. It's really worth the extra $600.00 or so. I really like the muscle car sound vs. rice rocket sound that the OEM exhaust has. The other reason I decided to get the headers, is that according to the Dyno tests that are published, you only get about a 5% horsepower increase with just the exhaust, but 10-15% increase with the headers. It almost sounds like a V8. The car takes on a completely different character. I may never turn on my radio again, or roll up my windows!

Clicked on your link since I'm looking at getting the same exhaust and from the picture, it doesn't look like the True Dual Exhaust with the H-Pipe but the first gen version - might explain the great price:

Can someone with the TD confirm this for me?

Just for $hits & grins I went back in time and doug up my original Borla install dyno comparison thread from June 2003. This is the dyno sheet > https://my350z.com/forum/attachment....chmentid=20687

This is the write up > https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust/33543-and-another-borla-duel-installed-w-dyno.html

Default Sounds good but what about HP?

Sounds to me like everyone has good reviews on the sound but I also read somewhere on this forum that it actualy stunts performance in the low RPM's and doesn't even kick in till around 5000. Is that true?

Die Die Die,

That is the Borla Single Dual that you purchased. I know because I had it. I have since sold it to paredyme here in San Diego and replaced it with the True Dual exhaust. I can say that there were very little gain switching from sotck to the single dual, but the switch from to the true dual was great, much much more than the single. I would suggest that you send it back to the people as it is falsely advertised (kindof).

Good luck with it,
jim
