Default Just got my Borla TD installed!!!

Oh man it sounds so good. FedEx dropped it off about 3.5 hours ago and I immediately had Meinike put it on. I wanted to let Crawford Z put it on but, being impatient, I decided to get it installed ASAP The kicker is it only cost $65 plus tax

On to the sound: This has all been discussed ad nauseum but since I am new to performance modding, just indulge me At start up there is an awesome low-end tone. Much deeper and authorative than stock. At idle, it's almost dead on like stock. Since I had my stock exhaust in the back and the roads were wet I didn't get a chance to open her up yet. Once I got back to work though I parked it and revved it hard. WIKKID sounding! I love it. Deeper, more complex in tone and just the right amount of added volume and attitude. Throttle response feels sharper although I haven't been able to examine it due to the road conditions and my cargo. Hopefully, the roads will have dried by the time I leave work tonight so I can get on it. Best mod yet!!

I think that once you have put some miles on the exhaust, it will sound even better. At least mine did.

What's the average power gain? 8hp? 2-3tq? Feels like it responds more quickly.

Well the car feels and sounds great. Much better than stock. But how long will this "burning" smell last? It's not overly obnoxious but still it's there.

Let it idle for about 30 min to an hour, it will smoke. They oil the inside of the mufflers for packing and storage, once it all burns out it will go away.

Thank you, thank you. I absolutely love it. If I add some test pipes, will I be able to pass emissions?

Ditto on that. That's what I have installed now and the sound at WOT in the higher RPMs is very addicting.

Will I be able to pass emissions with test pipes though? Removing the cats would screw me.

not a chance of passing without cats, go with a nice set of high flows.

That's what I thought. I guess all the guys running test pipes put the stock cats back on before emissions testing. Whats the going rate for the UR High Flows? May put em on my Christmas list

High flow cats killed my emissions test. That plus the fact that I had an open air intake with fully functional ram air. No, this is not a Z I am talking about. I have lots of experience with Borla Exhausts. I have had them on 3 vehicles. Every vehicle I have installed a Borla Exhaust on lost power only until I installed headers and an Air Intake. I wonder if the same would apply to the Z.

The burning smell will last for a dew days its nothing big but is annoying at first.

Your sound will change over time. Give it 6 months to mature. Borla is like a fine wine. It betters with age.

Welcome to the club!!

I have had my Borla for 2 years now.

Initially I had the single, but when the dual came out I sent Borla a letter saying I wish I had known the dual was coming out.

They traded me with no hassle. Its the best mod Ive done yet.
It really makes the Z sound exotic.

Enjoy!

I love it! Last night around 1:30 am I couldn't help it. I put on my shoes, got in, rolled the windows down and went for a spirited 10 minute joyride! Nobody was really out so I could open it up for short bursts just to hear it growl It sounds bloody great above 5k!

Well...I may hold off on the cats and go with a plenum instead.
That was my next pick for the next mod.

And yes, it does sound exotic. If it gets better sounding like everyone says, then this is even more of a fantastic mod!
