Default used injen

Sup guys,

I've read a bit about the injen intake vs the POP but I met a guy on craigs list who wants to sell pretty much all his parts so he can make rent (got laid off or something) Anyway, I'm interested in buying his stillen car cover and injen intake which he's selling to me for 50 and 100 respectively. I'm a bit concered about water issue you guys keep telling me about and here's his response:

"its called water lock unless your driving in 2 feet of water nothing will happen to your engine. My buddy has the same intake as me he has almost 40k driven the car in to winters and no problems. I live pretty close to strictlyz, scotts performance now z garage. i was asking the same questions you did because i didnt want to mess up my car. they told me with all the intakes for the z the filter will come in contact with water but unless your bumber deep in water nothing will happen. the only reason im selling it is that im really low on cash and Nov 15th is the last day at my job i got laid off. so its either sell all my goodies or my car till i get another job. its a great intake sounds good and you get the best gains from it. "

Thoughts from anybody?

I have the injen intake, and just switche dit to a short ram setup, b/c of the water issue. I had driven about 200 miles and it was in rain, some parts very heavy, and puddles, not deep puddles, interstate puddles (if there is such a thing) That night I noticed white smoke and check the oil cap and found milky oil. I was very, very, very lucky in changing the oil, 2 times with a HD oil in a bout 30 miles then regular 5w30 which I have about 600 miles on right now and no more milky oil. My compression an all is good, so no rings or gasket are shot, but it was a very close call. If you get the setup, go short ram only, I wouldn't trust it down low like that ever again. my .02
