Default Quieter Exhausts

Hey guys,

As you know I recently got some stillen race pipes and a fujitsubo y-pipe. These upgrades coupled with my Tanabe exhaust has made my cruising note way too ****ing loud. I lvoe the sound of the tanabe exhaust by itself but with these upgrades its unbearable. I do want to keep a cat-less setup so is there any exhaust you guys can recommend that would be quieter than my tanabe setup. I'm particulary interested in Japanese brands.

Thank You

get rid of the race pipes and put in kinetix resonated test pipes. no rasp, should be quieter.

Its the brand Y pipe + exhaust you chose. Go with a borla catback if you want it more mellow sounding. As far as I know, Fujitsobo doesnt have proven gains.

Thanks, besides borla do you have any other recommendations?

I have been looking at:

Amuse R1 Titan
Blitz Nur Touring
Fujitsubo Legalis R
HKS Legamax (Highly Considering as it passes noise regulations... or so it claims.)

Catless with stock exhaust should get you what you're looking for.....unless like most (me included) you just can't bear the thought of the stock exhaust even though aftermarket cat-backs really give minimal gains on this motor.

catless and stock exhaust would be a good way to go - if you want an aftermarket, the Fujitsubo is hands down the quietest, and has as good a gain as any other exhaust out there (especially since you have the Y pipe done already, which is a good source of gains on these cars). I also had an Apexi Hybrid megaphone (essentially the Japan spec version of the WorldSport - a bit louder than the Fujitsubo, but MUCH quieter than most exhausts out there.

As for Borla, I spent 2 hours behind one on the way to a meet (it was an auto) - sounded horrendous to me, but it's all personal preference

Hey Z1 I was checking out your site and the Apex World Sport, Fujitsubo Legalis R and Blitz Nur all caught my eye as being the quietest of the bunch. Out of these three which would you recommend for the most mellow, quiet, sound? Also, does the Blitz provide any HP gains?

Hey Guys!

I'm also very interested in that stuff. Right now I'm checking with my tuner in europe if the mix of Fujitsubo Y-Pipe and Blitz Nur is a good one or if there's a better (I just love things from Blitz).

So keep on posting good informations! Thanks

I have not sold nor fit a Blitz exhaust yet so cannot comment.

I had the Fujitsubo stainless and now the Ti one on my own car and its very nice sounding but not much louder than stock (it is deeper though) - very exotic sounding with my other exhaust mods (Ultimate Racing cats and Y pipe)

Does the Ti exhaust sound the same as the Legalis R (Stainless Steel)?

Since this is about sound, keeping it down that is, what would hi-flow cats do to the sound of a Fuji Legalis R and fuji y-pipe? Also what would they do for power increase?

i installed the cats and the fuji at the same time, so i dont know how much of a difference the cats make.

my friend had the nismo with the fuji y pipe and the rt cats and that thing sounded nice, but a bit loud. after he changed to ultimate racing cats, it quieted it down quite a bit, so it also depends on which hi flow cat you get.

i think my setup is just right for me. only thing is i wish the idle was a bit louder. o/w it sounds powerful when i get on it, and quiets down when i am just cruising. if any of you guys will be vacationing in hawaii soon, i can let you hear it.

Is there any way you could post a vid or sound recording of your car? I am very interested in hearing it, especially crusing around 3k rpms... But, if you could just rev it for me a few times id be happy too
