High Flow Cats vs Cat Delete Pipes
Okay, almost have my full exhaust system upgraded from the headers back. The finishing step: getting rid of the stock cats.
I've been looking around at products, and I have 3 finalists.
1) Kinetix High Flow Cats
2) Stillen "Race Pipes"
3) APS Cat Delete Pipes
Questions-
1) which is the best in terms of HP gains?
2) which will improve my car's sound the best? Right now I have dual stillen catback, and they sound pretty good. I heard that the stillen race pipes add a kind of raspy sound but they give nice power though...
3) maybe some truth to the rumor- a friend told me, high flow cats are a safer alternative to cat delete pipes, because if the car is inspected and there are no cats on it, it will be impounded. True/False? How easy is it to get around this?

test pipes will be noticeably louder and provide the most power. Cats will be much quieter, give a noticeable improvement vs the stock cats, but not quite the punch of test pipes
We use and offer the Ultimate Racing cats ourselves and could not be happier with them

Your gonna get a bad raspy sound when you take off the stock cats and go with test pipes [ pipes are pipes go with some cheaper ones ] Crawfors ,Ultimate , and Kinetics make good cats . There are pipes with resonaters that will get rid of most of the rasp and still be higher flowing than any of the cats

Im still torn between the two. I guess it depends on which weighs out the other- how much more power the pipes put out over cats, and how much better cats sound vs pipes.

hp wise - a could at most..its not going to be a HUGE difference. For me personally, the sound of test pipes is too much to bear, so the high flow cats were the only choice. All depends on what you are willing to live with.
If it were me though, I might look into ditching your Borla headers and going with something more power producing
