Default Rear View mirror Woes

Does anyone else's mirror fall down when the bass is hitting HARD? I love to crank my stereo, but the freaking thing works its way down after big bass.

This isnt really a warranty issue, has anyone found a fix?

ps- I'm only running a 10w6v2

uhhh no not a problem but then again I have a stock sound system. they wont fix this underwarrenty since its caused by an aftermarket component. sounds like its just not stiff enough fit to hold up, I donno how you could make it stiffer...

Is there a screw or something you can tighten?

Id suggest finding someone with a service manual that can take a look on how its put togehter,if its like a ball socket thing, perhaps you could coat it with paint or slip a peice of paper in there to tightin up the joint, but that will probably loosen up again in time.

There is no screw and it is a ball-socket type. I dont see how I could get paper in there. its a pretty tight tolerance.

I'd suggest a very careful application of BLUE locktite to the ball. Swirl it around a bit to get some locktite into the socket. The blue locktite will gum up in the gap and should do the trick without freezing the whole assembly like a glue would do.

If possible, I'd recommend removing the mirror and stalk when you do this, otherwise some locktite will drip.

Don't be ridiculous, since it needs to be adjustable for other drivers, duct tape is the only way to go.

If it is a painted surface, I would suggest againts locktite. Locktite eats paint. But if you don't car about the paint on the mirror or its not painted at all go for it.
