Bad mildew smell in car
One of the unfortunate side effects of living in Hawaii is that I occasionally get into the car while I'm still a little wet. Basically, the Z isn't a very good beach car.
I've now started to notice that on wet days, the car fills with this horrible smell of wet dog. I think I've got a mildew problem. I read that this can be a side effect of having a plugged condenser on the AC, that's definitely possible, the car hasn't been serviced in a while. I'm more concerned that I have mildew on the seats or the carpets.
Any suggestions?
Luckily, on dry days, this isn't a problem, but today, while it was raining..oh boy, it stank.

try spray a mist of rubbing alcohol+water into the AC intake (next to the windshield wipers) while the AC is on high. Or use something like Lysol spray. Do this with the windows down and open ventilation.
Yeh I've got the same problem. But I'm way up and over in Vancouver BC. Its very wet here in the winter months. I've seen some stuff on a car shows that's a foaming spray you're supposed to spray into the AC vents or something. I beleive its supposed to dissinfect the AC condensor water collection box. If I find anything on this ( a little more specific, I'll post it here)
