Default BBB Arbitration

Hello all,

Well I've pretty much completed my dispute with the BBB. I was wondering if anyone who has experience with filing a dispute against Nissan could give me some pointers? As with most of you disgruntled Z owners, I have serious issues with the front end suspension. I'm sick of replacing tires and just want Nissan to reimburse me for the car.

I've read a lot of good success stories on this forum, so if you could share your experiences I'd really appreciate it. I just want some pointers as to what documentation to bring and also some good arguments to bring forward with the arbitrator and Nissan.

Thanks in advance!

I did not do the arbitration. I am however suing Nissan. I have heard that in the Arbitrations if you win or lose is pretty much dependent on how much knowledge the arbitrator has about car issues. I know one person printed this entire thread and then took along all the service records. I would also bring in one of your tires for a shock factor. Show them exactly what the tire looks like. Also, try to make a video recording of the tire noise. In the video film your VIN in two different spots so they can't say it is not your car. Then while driving record the roaring sound.

Thanks for the response. I don't really have any service records because Nissan declined to assist me in anything. Same with the dealers. What I have ended up doing is buying new tires or switching the left and right tires to prolong the wear.

However, I like the idea of bringing in my tire. I also like the idea of videotaping the issue. I think both ideas are great.

I think what would really hit home would be to get the cliam numbers of all the successful Z owners out there that have won arbitration. That sets precendence, so it would be really helpful if any of you who have won cases to PM me if you don't mind. I'd love to bring up your case in the hearing to set some precendence in my own case. Cheers!

Any time you have an appointment to have service done you should have a service record. If they refuse to do any service that is fine. But you should still get a service record with documentation on why the refused to do the work. This actually helps your case.

Take my situation for example. I have a 2004 Z with tire feathering. I took it to a dealership twice asking them to fix my car. They refused both times. I called Nissan North America. They refused to do anything. Now I have two service records showing refusal to do work. This makes my case full-proof because this issue SHOULD be covered under warranty.

Finally, those ideas about the tire and movie were from my attorney.

Good Luck!

Cool, well I went to two different dealerships. I have one service record from them stating that they saw the tires were excessively worn and that Nissan "declined assitance". I think that's a plus for me. I went to another dealer a few months before and they also saw a need for new tires, but they never tried to contact Nissan for assistance. Therefore on the service record there's no mention of that. Still, I think with my documentation and some of the ideas you threw out, I should have a decent case in front of me

I was in the process...Different rules in each state......I had to give my dealer 3 tries within ? Then NNA had one last chance...They sent a tech from CA......He found my problem the same day.......I had to send NNA a certified letter stateing I was going to file arb......There was an 800 number for this in FL......Maybe 1-800-647-7261 That's Nissan North America's Consumer Affairs.....Good luck....Dave
