Default 30k mi dealer-service scam?

Took my baby to nissan for the $350, 30k-mi service yesterday, along with the window-grease tsb fix. They gave me a loaner sentra, which i was thankful for.

Then today, they called me saying "the mechanic recommends an injector flush and induction service for better performance, for an add'l $330". At first, i bit cuz of the "performance" buzz word. Then i called a good my350z.com brother and z expert, who told me it was basically an unnecessary money-making method used by the dealers. I promptly called nissan and cancelled that extra service.

To my anonymous friend (you know who you are), you are a gentleman and a scholar. You saved me $330. I owe you bigtime, and i promise from now on to go to you first for all my aftermarket parts. Thanks again, bro.

Check the service order, that is a very important part of the 30K service and if they didn't do it your MPG will go way down.

I did my 15k service at Capital Nissan here in San Jose, California and my service came with the injection flush services and some other flush stuff. I paid $399.00 though.

Ouch!!! My dealer told me all I need is oil/filter changes until 30K miles then they change the air filter and some other fluid changes (diff I think), can't remember what they are since I'm only at 13K miles, will worry about it latter. You should never need any injection system flushes at 15K miles, maybe at 90K miles but not 15K miles. One question did they kiss you after they flucked you??

No they didn't kiss me eheheh...But, they did give me a free alignment. But my car does seem to run smoother after what they did.
