Brake light comes on when pressing brake also vdc and slip on light too???
Now I'm guessing i'll need new brake pads and probably rotors are cause they're warped. But how in the world does my vcd and "slip" light get triggered too. Once in a rare while it'll be triggered and stays on until i turn the car off. Now when I step on the brakes hard the "brake" light comes on.
One last question, can you turn the rotors on the nissan or do you have to buy new ones?
Also how do you read the wear indicator on those damn pads? I don't undertsand it too much, but of course I haven't taken my wheel off yet and checked it out myself

The brake light is probably due to low brake fluid due to wear on the pads causing more fluid to go into the lines, just ad some fluid.
The pad wear is hard to see depending on what model you have but if you look at an angle you can see the edge of the pad (non-brembo) But they will have a wear indicator which starts to chirp when you hit the brakes indicating the pad is worn down.
As for the slip light not sure why that is coming on unless you have changed wheels/tires and didn't keep the original overall dimensions.

yeah its definately the brake fluid. putting some in will buy some time. but it is a sure indicator that your pads are wearing, so you will need new pads probably in the next 2-3 months, depending on your driving style. so you might want to get that done also. at least doing it now will prevent any chance of doing any abnormal rotor wear.

well I know for a fact that my rotors are warped. I've ran my fingers through them and I can feel that curve. Now I'm assuming you can't turn the rotors on the 350z right?

As a technician in training I command you to go get your brakes worked on. The thing is is the longer you wait the more expensive your brakes get. If your pads are low or you are losing brake fluid you might have another problem than pads if they arent low. Brakes save your life. GO GET THEM FIXED ASAP. b4 you have to replace the caliper's!!!

thanks for the advice from a tech yeah I know by experience if you wait longer you'll just end up paying an arm and a leg for it. I work with a bunch of techs at my stores and I'm having someone work on them for me. I'm not sure if I want to turn them still or get some cryogenically treated rotors.
