Default grinding from 1st to 2nd.. advice please

Whats up guys lately when punching on the gas and shifting from 1st to 2nd the gears grind and wont go in but under normal driving nothing happens what could this be? I've never had this problem before.

Also I just had my brake job done and when coming to a stop the breaks squeel is there something I can do to fix this?

Thanks gilbert

The grinding might be the Synchros(SP) in your tranny going bad. Most people get the 3rd gear grind when shifting into 3rd. Take it back to nissan they won't give you any problems replacing it. When they changed the brakes did they put the shims back on?

dude the 1-2 shift in our car is gay IMO.. I've never missed gears in any of my cars.. but I feel like I have to hesitate almost pause my shift from 1-2 to prevent the little grind

Mine "clunks" in the 1st to 2nd shift. Dont know if that qualifies for grinding ,but it seems to go away after the tranny is warmed up.

I was told my car didnt need a shim kit and should I take it to the dealer even though it doesnt grind during normal driving only when redlining it. wont they ask for proof of the grinding.

Mine grinds like this too, only when I am shifting very quickly from first to second.
