I recently bought a used 2003 350Z with 30000K miles. My clutch pedal release point is about 1"-2" from the top of the pedal extension. Is this bad? Is it possible for me to adjust this or should I have my clutch replaced? I have driven a few other stock 350's at the local dealership and their clutches released about midpoint and seemed to be a little tighter. They also seemed to have more power than mine.
You can adjust the pedal travel to have more/less "dead space". Here is a link with instructions (its the same on the G35 as the Z):

I did this to mine (several times to find the "sweet spot") ... and it works well!

I'm not an expert about these things but...if the clutch isn't slipping, I wouldn't replace it. I would guess that my pedal moves 2" before the release point; hasn't changed during the 45,000 miles I've driven the car.
Also you could take it to the dealer and ask what they think about the clutch. At 30,000 it might be under warrantee.

even better, install a pedal stop so that you can't push the pedal more than an inch beyond the engagement point (just make sure that you can still push it down far enough to start the car, lol) -- that way it'll reduce a LOT of the motion you've got in the pedal.
i did that with my tilton and i can drive it through downtown bumper-to-bumper as easy as stock.
basically, fiddle around with the engagement point, try a bunch of different place to see what you like the most, but I wouldn't replace the clutch until you start slipping @ WOT
