Exclamation HELP! MAF Sensor Problem.

My car quit on me when I was driving. The car will start, but will die in a few seconds. I had the car Towed to Nissan and they said it's the JWT Pop charger filter. It let a piece of "something" in and got on the MAF sensor and screwed it up. They said it'll cost ~$650 to fix!!! Little pissed about that. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I need a new MAF sensor? Does anyone know where to buy a cheaper one? I don't want to pay out $650 for this thing. Warranty will not cover it because the pop charger is aftermarket..voided the warranty. (fyi..I bought this car used, so I don't have the OEM air box either) Please Help!!!

Have you tried disconnecting the battery completely, both cables, then reconnect. maybe that can reset the sensor.

Which Dealership did you go to & how long have you had your PopCharger? Also, did you install it or did you have someone else install it?

Most likely that wont work because the sensor is toast. My bet is that filter oil got on the sensor and screwed it up. This is a common problem with air filter elements that you oil.
