warranty questions
I have a 2004 enthusest. I have 13500 miles. I needed inspection in may and I clealy needed new tires. They told me that the tire wear was normal and that there was no mileage warranty on the potenza tire. I was upset but I really couldn't argue with it, (the rear tires had no tread on them at all). They also told me that I needed new brakes and rotors as well. This i had a problem with. The sevice manager told me that the z was not intended for "daily driving" and that the brakes only last between 15000 and 20000 miles. I find this hard to belive. I asked why i was not told this when I bought the car and his response was "we are not obligated to tell you that when you purchace the car" I feel that if it is true that the car was not intended for daily use that It is a important bit of info the customer should be aware of, especially if this will be their daily driver. I myself am not made of $ and cannot afford to put 1500$ into new brakes and tires every year to just pass inspection.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
o yea and 1 more thing they told me that the rotors can not be turned on the 350z. I have never heard of such a thing except maybe sloted/cross drilled rotors.

Rotors can be turned unless they are really worn down. Your Dealer is full of crap!
By the looks of the tires at that mileage it appears you drive aggressively.
Can you rate your driving? Do you stop really hard a lot, ect?
Brakes and rotors should last way more than that but it really depends on the driver. The Z is a daily driven car, your dealer is full of it.
When you replace the tires/brakes/rotors, be more careful about your driving it will save you in the long run.

Find another dealer. Sounds to me like you've just really enjoyed the car to the point of needing new tires & brakes. And unless you've over heated & cracked your rotors he should be able to turn them. Of course replacement is the perfect time for those nice drilled/slotted ones you really want.
I agree with Bixby. You need a new dealer!! Try to get advice about Nissan dealers from other Z owners in the Philadelphia area. Hopefully someone will respond.
You may need new tires and brakes but without an honest mechanic you're basically at their mercy.
I've been around a while and I've have learned (sometimes the hard way) that it pays to search my community for a competent/honest physician, dentist, lawyer, mechanic, veterinarian, etc. Honest friends are good too.
