here is the deal. I am at 42k miles, well out of warranty, and the driver side window motor is dead. I have the extended warranty but i guess that does not cover such things. so i am looking to replace the window motor, and the dealer said that after everything is said and done i am looking at 300-500 bucks.

bullsh!t!!! I will drive around with my climate control on if i have to for now.

question is though, i have thought with how similar all these cars are nowadays, i bet this window motor is the same that nissan uses in the altima or maxima, if not at least the G35. hell the maxima has a lot of the same stuff.

i know there are a lot of those cars in my area sitting in junk yards totalled, and i could get a window motor from them a hell of a lot cheaper. and i already have my own mechanic that would charge infinately less than the stealership.

any thoughts???

 

Welcome to the club. From what I understand is is not a standard motor, and the price reflects that.

I just bought a used one out of a wrecked car. I wonder how long this one will last? I fully intend on figuring out why the first one failed. It worked fine most of the time now it rarely works and other times struggles. I have stopped using it as to not totally burn it up.
