I have a couple of rock chips that are bothering me and I'm going to replace my windshield soon. But my question is do I need a Nissan windshield to keep my rear view mirror / garage door opener working, or will any aftermarket glass suffice? Looks like there are these black dots on the glass where the mirror sits and I don't know if this has anything to do with the mirror's remote equipment.

 

I'ved had mine replaced through safelite.com for less than $200. everything works fine.changing the windshield will not affect the garage opener and your rearview mirror. when you replace it make sure you tell them that you need those dots on your windshield. for OEM windshield it will cost you $900+ just for the windshield.
