Default Premature Belt Wear

Hey guys, This post is mostly directed to you out there who have a Stillen Supercharger kit...

I have a '03 Track Model with about 16,000 miles on it, and have already had to replace ALL of the belts, well, minus the A/C compressor belt. So, 3 out of 4 of them.

Has anyone with a stock engine had ANY trouble with the belts so far?? (squealing, cracking, stretching, glazing)

I have had all the above issues happen to them, and I just replaced all three that were bad about 2 months ago, and guess what.... It's almost time to replace them again!

Upon startup, I get a "Squeak..Squeak..Squeak..Squeak.." and when looking under the hood, you can see evidence of severe wear in the form of what appears to be black pencil eraser shavings all over everything, which is of course the belt degradation.

I have to tighten the accessory belt constantly -This is the major one that has the issues with stretching.

My theory is that the S/C is heating the engine up so much that it is prematurely wearing these belts out. The immense heat is causing the belts to loosen up and slip on the pulleys which in turn wears them even more and shaves off small particulates and throws it everywhere under the hood. Sometimes after a good hard run with it, you can even smell burnt rubber emanating from under there.

When I replaced them, I made sure to take off the idler pulley and lube it up as it was not too free spinning. I figured that the pulley being a bit sticky was the issue and the fact that it too had also gotten glazed over, so I resurfaced it and soaked the bearings in oil. It was great for about 2 days, then started to Squeak..Squeak..Squeak.. again.

Is anyone having similar issues with this? The S/C kit is a Stage 1, 6psi, no chip, no intercooler.

The fact that it has no intercooler has me thinking that the extra heat buildup is leading to this belt failure. Can you confirm this OR is this happening with the stock engines too??
