Do you have to pay to fix a tsb?
I dropped my car off at the dealership today to take a look at the tire roar and a clicking noise that I get at low speeds. First off, I called last week to make an appointment for today. But they didn't have my name in the computer. oh well, so they tell me that to fix my clicking noise I have to retorque my axle at a cost of about $100. I told them isn't there a TSB on it? He said yes, but you still have to pay to fix it. HUH? Am I being rammed by another dealership here? I was under the impression that fixing a TSB is free?
Many 350Z drivers have a misconception about what a service bulletin is, and what it is not. A service bulletin is simply directions for a technician about how to fix something. Sort of an appendage to the maintenance manual.
So your question is “Should a clicking rear axle be a free warranty repair?” The answer is yes. Axle clicking is a material or workmanship deficiency.
Speak with the service manager for a resolution.
If that doesn't clear up the dealer’s error, contact NISSANUSA.
