just check it a lot over the next few days and if theres no drips under it you will be fine. or get a new plug/washer for a couple bucks and switch it real fast so you dont lose a lot of oil, then just top it off.

If it doesn't leak you're probably ok, but the point of the crush washer is to form a "mold-able" seal that will absorb expansion and contraction of the metals and conform to small imperfections in the plug/seat that might otherwise prevent a tight seal. I personally would put one in quickly and just re-top-off the oil...It would nag at the back of my mind every time I got in the car if I didn't put the washer in.

Spend the $10 or $15.,- you only have to replace the oil! Much cheaper than overhauling or purchasing a new engine! Would be quite a trick to replace the plug quickly I believe.

The transmission uses a little over 3 1/4 quarts. Your probably fine with 3 qts. in it. When I drained mine it only had 2 1/2 qts. in it from the factory.
