Default Starting Problem

I'm having intermitant starting problems with my '04. It cranks but doesn't start. I have to stop and wait a minute then try again and it starts up. I am using 91oct. only, the clutch is all the way in, I haven't touched the gas and I'm in neutral. It usually happens after I've started and stopped a few times. My service center can't explain it.

Is it under warranty still? If so the stealership should take care of it. If it wasnt under warranty they would say oh it this and then they change it and come to find out it wasnt that part so they try something else and by the time they figure it out you are paying for 2 or 3 new parts you didnt even need to begin with. So if it is still covered make sure to take care of it now and dont take a " we just cant put a finger on, come back if it happens again." Because what will end up happening is you will run out of your warranty and still be stuck with the problem.

What happens when you try to start? Does it not start even if you keep it cranking for 15 seconds? If it does finally start after 5-10 seconds does the VDC and slip lights come on? If so it might be a CAS problem. Keep us posted, interested to find out what it is.

... or it could be a hot-start condition. Check up on the owner's manual on how to perform a warm start. Usually it involves depressing the throttle partway while cranking. Contrary to popular belief, this actually reduces the amount of fuel injected into the combustion chamber during the startup sequence.
