Mine does it too. I just didn't really worry about it. Good or bad...I don't know.

I just left the dealership. The guy up there sprayed some stuff on the rubber boot. I think the stuff was by Wurther, maybe...something like that. Anyways, it's solved the problem for now. I guess I'll go buy me some and use it when the squeak comes back.

I've had that problem... 03 with 34k. At about 30k I left my car for about 3 weeks and it was in Seattle and it was raining the whole time. Got in the car and the clutch was like "Squeeeekk... Sccrreeeeek." The sound was definitely coming from under the car and engine compartment... for me anyway. I was meaning to figure out where the sound was coming from but it's gone away since I've been using it daily. Sounds like a linkage needing lube... my old Jeep wagoneer had a linkage into the transfer case that made that same noise... I used to spray some brake rubber lube in there and it wouldn't come back for a long time...

2cents.

this whole lub suggestion seems to working for a few of you, but I think a number of us less experienced are curious about what to look for when spraying (rubber boot??)

Here are some pics. I'm not really sure which spot was sprayed since the guy at the dealership did it while I watched. Maybe someone with more car knowledge can offer than $.02 on what to spray. Hope that helps!

This is where the clutch pedal pivots. I am pretty sure that this spot got sprayed for sure.

Here a rod from the pedal passes through the firewall. It looked like there was a rubber boot or gromet there but I wasn't sure if it had been sprayed (A lot of stuff was covered in the lube from where it had dripped so it was hard to distinguish what was purposely sprayed and what got dripped on)

Note: Use this info at your own risk. I am not responsible if anything goes wrong (not that it should...but just incase)

I have this squeaking noise when I release the clutch.

I was at the dealership like 5 times before they tried to fix it. What they did they got me a new cluch pedal asembly. That, however, didnt fix the problem since the noise is comming from the engine compartment!!!

Did any one had a similar noise and had it fixed?
