Default Hood Vibrates Up and Down

Has anyone noticed their hood vibrating up and down slightly when you are driving at speeds over about 40 mph??

When I look at the edge of the hood near the windshield wipers I see it vibrating up and down and it moves more if I hit a bump.

I want to know if this is normal or if there is something wrong with my hood. If everyone else sees the same thing, then it must be normal.

I've never noticed mine moving at road speeds. I did see some noticable vibration at the upper corners of the hood the last time I drove the car through a car wash that included a blower/dryer, but only when the air was aimed directly at the hood area. Other than that, nothing.

Can you get any unusual movement out of the hood if you try and shake it when it is opened, like a loose hinge or mounting point?

No, there does not seem to be any loose hinges or anything.

I cringed when you mentioned you took it through a car wash, but that's a subject for another thread at another time

I take my car through Mikes "brushless" car wash. Its the only solution to getting my Z shiny during the cold *** winter months with out getting frostbite on my fingers trying to wash it

Don't sweat it. I don't use car washes that use brushes. This particular one is completely touchless and actually does a pretty good job removing bugs and dirt unless you've been out there off-roading or something. Uses Rain-X products.

I notice mine starting to move around 110mph, then at 140mph it is really dancing.

It's definitely the tires. Those tires are known for making hoods vibrate.
