Cold Engine Squeel ??
I have a cold engine Squeel /Whirr. It only happens when its cold outside, the engine is not completely warmed up and is under load (accelerating). It sounds like its in the engine or engine area. Its not a belt squeel sounds more like a dry bearing sound. The squeel gets to a higher pitch when the rpms are increased. When the engine warms up or if its relatively warm out side its goes away.

exton!!! i'm in exton.
make sure you let your Z warm up until the temp gauge starts to rise and your oil pressure is around 90....specially when it's cold like it has been the past few mornings
hope to see you around

I have the same sound, it happens daily and only in the morning. After driving the car I can leave it sit all day at work and it doesn't do it again until the next morning. It's only there for the first 5 minutes or so. Anyone else? any suggestions?
lovetoclown, trust me when I tell you, we are not running the a/c in the north east right now! it's been in the 30's.

no this is a non-a/c matter...it probably has to do with the oil not being warmed up enough causing more friction which is the noise (my guess)
i always have my fan/climate control in the off position and if i don't warm up the car to what i said earlier, the engine will squeal.
if i let the car sit until the oil pressure lowers to 90 and the coolant temp starts rising i will not get the squeal....alot depends on the weight you run as well....
