Default After storage Prep Question

My ZR and M/C will be stored for about a year, and I had a question about the oil when I drive it again.

Do I change the oil on both before I start the car/M/C or let the car/M/C warm up for 30 minutes then change it? I changed the oil with fresh oil right before I placed them in storage.

i'd drive the car around then change the oil.

but everything's so debateable. i've changed oil before and after storage, and i've also left the oil in there and driven it after storage since i figured the oil's still good. there may be some moisture in there but there aren't any chemicals from combustion.

I'm not sure about the newer cars, but I know on classic cars, it's best to turn the oil pump a few times before you attempt to start the car. Think of this, the car is going to sit for a year, and all the oil residue on the internals is going to work it's way down to the bottom. When you go to start the car, there won't be any oil left on the top end, so it'll be like metal on metal until the oil coats everything again. To combate this problem, there are special adaptors you can use to hook up a drill to the oil pump. This will spin the oil pump, getting oil to coat the motor. Personally, I do this for a few minutes, then let it sit for 10-15 mins, then repeat a couple of times. Then I'll fire the motor. Again, this is what I've done for older cars (they are stored for the winter). I am not sure if this is even possible with the Z.

If you have synthetic oil in there, I wouldn't worry about changing it after storing it. If you are using traditional oil, change it. The way I look at it, it's a cheap preventative.
