Default starting after 7 month storage

Just got home from a 7 month deployment to the "other side of the world". My 03Track had been hooked up with a Battery Tender charger in the garage. Jumped in the car after a quick safety check and turned the key... engine started without any problem. Took the car out for a quick spin. Perfect. no problem noticed. Glad to be back in home!

Thanks Shipmates!
Ya.. I normally would change oil after an extended storage. but I have 5 liters of vintage 2004 "German" Castrol OW-30 the 'Green elixer' in my crank that only saw about 2,000 miles of use. Would hate to dump it all, since the green elixer is hard to find.
BTW, I saw a few 350Zs in Bahrain and Dubai. It really made me miss my own Z.

Mine will be sitting for 6 months when I come back for midtour.

I put regular oil in the crankcase. Should I change the oil when I come back or is it okay to go ahead and start it, then change it, or just drive it and change it again before I leave for my last 5 months?

Better change the oil before storage. The contamination in used oil can be cause oxydation of internal parts.
After changing the oil you may start the engine, but better not to warm up the oil. Because once it heated up it starts to detoriate. Fresh oil (not heated up) can be stored for years without losing it performance.

Default Synthetic fluids

Good stuff,
Castrol Formula RS 0W40, you can buy it at any BP gasstation in Germany.

or Motul they are also specialist in racing type oil http://www.motul.fr/uk/conseils/index.html
