Default Driver's window randomly rolls down 1/3

This is happening in my Wife's 03 Base.

The other night, I noticed the driver window wasn't opening up upon exit and entry into the vehicle. Then, I stopped at the grocery store (with the window all the way up) When I came back out, the window was about 1/3 of the way down. My wife said its happened to her several times as well. I can still control the window ok with the switch.

Anybody else have this problem? After doing some research on this board, it seems electiric windows in this car are a little bit flakey.

Thanks.

Either the motor is bad or the dealer has to reset it in the door. There is a small reset button on the motor. If you have a warrenty left let them do it. It shouldn't take to long.

Maybe it's just tired?

Take it in, they'll fix it.

Ahh, it's out of warranty, just barely, like 37,500 miles or something like that. She just got a recall notice in the mail about the fuel line so I guess I'll take it in for that and have them look at the window as well.

I had that problem on the driver side. They replaced the motor for the window. Been 10 days and hasn't done it. I am not sure it is resolved since it was happening about once a week.

I have the same problem with my passenger window. The motor stopped dropping the window 1/8" when the door was opened. Because of this when the passenger side door is closed it hits the roof. This causes the window to roll down about half way. I now have to lower and raise the window manually before and after the door is opened.

Also when I use the auto-up on the passenger side window it rolls all the way up and then half way down.

My car is out of warranty so I've just been living with it.

The motor is not very expensive (about $100) and it should be easy to change if you have some basic tools and a service manual.

I wouldn't be able to live with that . You must have a lot of patience.

I honestly just don't think about it anymore, it's become part of my routine. I've also heard of a few people who have had success by cleaning the motor. I think I'll try that first when I get the motivation to get in there

Before you go to the dealer or remove the doorpanel, check the doorswitch first !
It has to activate the 1/8" function. Check it first at the good side.

I rememebered on the dealer work order it said $148 CDN. And N/C next to it since it was no charge for me. (under warranty).

Can't say it as a fact.

The only way to know for sure is to call your local parts dept.

basically, the fix:
$85, if you're over 12 mon/12k miles on your warranty, take it to nissan, they'll "reprogram" the window,

moreover, the workaround:
hold the button up, until the window closes, don't let it go auto-up

if only i had a nickel for every time i've seen this thread, people need to use the search button, end of thread, lol
