Oil pressure gauge broke...reads 120+ no matter what
Has this happened to anyone else? I noticed this on the way home from work yesterday. It just is pegged all the way to the right, no matter what. I changed the oil today since I was about due, and while under the car I checked the oil pressure sensor and everything underneath looks good.
Bad gauge maybe, or something else? I'd assume if it was a fuse or anything electrical, the gauge would be sitting at "0", not pegged all the way up.

The sender is probably bad. It might have gone to full ground allowing a max reading on the gauge. Just think of a analog meter. When you turn the ignition to on does the gauge react the same way? If so, disconnect the harness going the oil pressure sender, if the gauge drops to "0" you have found your problem. If the gauge stays maxed out you have a short to ground somewhere between the gauge and the sender.

Same issue here, happened on my first run at the drag strip last Wed. When I bounced really hard on my launch. Freeked me out until I called my mechanic to get it diagnosed, he had me turn the key on and it read 65 w/o the car running. I know its the sending unit, but is there anyway to fix it without replacing the unit? It's only $45 from Performance Nissan, but that 2 nights at the track
Also, for the new sending unit, did you use tephlon tape to seal the threads? i am thinking that might be part of the cause for my groundout.
